3 Days Until “D” Day – Are You as Ready for 2012 as I Am?

I’m beginning to wonder if it will ever get here lol. Yesterday turned out to be a long day when Ze kept me up half the night sick and I ended up at the vet office which is about 40 miles from where I live now. It’s a vet I’ve gone to for many years and he’s extremely affordable. Or at least, he used to be. It’s located in a lower income area so that the poor can still have animals and those animals don’t have to suffer with illness and injuries. These doctors have been a god send to the entire area. While Ze and I sat waiting to be seen, the other patrons filled me in on the latest vet news.

My vet had sold the business and prices had gone up. Since it was 2 days after Christmas, I didn’t have alot of extra cash so I was hoping I had enough to cover the visit. I figured I’d find out when the time came and would deal with the answer, whatever that might be.

It turned out she ate something bad and has a stomach infection. She’s a Yorkie so she’s always trying to eat stuff outside. Her favorite thing to do is to lick toads. I keep explaining to her they won’t turn into princes no matter how many times she tries lol. We seem to be having a toad problem in my area of Florida because this is the 2nd home I’ve had where we were over run with toads. Yuck!!

That blew most of the day so no work in the real world. The people I work with are great and let me do what I need when I need to. As you’ve seen just in the past couple weeks, my life never has a dull moment so everything has to be somewhat flexible. I have always said “Life is fluid so you just gotta go with the flow”. One never knows what tomorrow brings!!

Today, I headed to work and did what I could to keep busy for the day. It’s so slow right now that there’s limits to what can be accomplished. I currently work within an industry regulated by the government so their offices are closed or running on skeleton crews. Anybody who’s anybody has the entire holiday season off. Not so for us worker bees 😉

That also reminds me that I need to pick up my books for upcoming classes. I’m really looking forward to getting back to my schoolwork. Now that my writing skills are getting honed and I’ve got most of my web work completed, school should be even more exciting. One of the best gifts you can give yourself this holiday season is to learn more about a subject that interests you. You never know where it might take you.

Who would’ve thought I’d be where I am today??
